LAST MINUTE STRESS

I spoke about how the book began and now I am going to jump to the end, the week before pressing the go button for everything to go to print. It really is a journey writing a book! Often the beginning and end of the journey are the most difficult. This was certainly true for us.

It is the 11th hour for the printers to get the go ahead to go to print or everything will be delayed by a week or two and that will mean having to postpone the book launch events and my whole travel schedule. This was no small thing as we had it all scheduled around my needing to be in Calgary that week, first for clients and then to facilitate a Personal Power weekend at the Banff Leadership Center. We were told by the printers that the cover image of the book was not of high enough quality for a decent print. We tried repeatedly to fix it and could not. Time to find someone who could create the book cover from scratch. Our most excellent IT partner Jevon Hills came to the rescue and found a graphic designer who got it done. It was a day and a half of nail biting, talking 10 times a day, making changes – all of us wanting to feel great about it and not to compromise our chosen cover. We did it and everything got back on track.

The day we sent out the notice that the book was for sale I felt both excited and nervous. It is really out there now and people can read it. Now we will wait and see what they think, say and feel about it and prepare to support whatever responses we get.
